Developed and refined through 25 years of clinical practice, training and innovation, ACT4life helps professionals understand what is happening beneath behavior.
By bringing together context, physiology, attention, meaning and values into one coherent framework, it provides a shared language for understanding behavior, guiding conversations and supporting meaningful change.
More than 2,500 professionals have already been trained in ACT4life. Discover how a shared language for behavior and change can strengthen your work, your conversations and the people you support.
MORE THAN A MODEL
ACT4life started as a way of making behavior easier to understand. Over time, it grew into a shared language used by thousands of professionals working with children, young people, adults, families and teams.
Today, ACT4life includes training programs, practical materials, books, magazines, podcasts and a growing collection of tools designed to bring behavioral science to life. Everything is created with one goal in mind: helping professionals make sense of complexity and support meaningful change in a practical, accessible way.
ACT4life is not only something you learn. It is something you become part of — a community of professionals who continue to learn, share ideas and inspire one another through events such as ACTIVAL and many other opportunities to connect.

Curious to experience ACT4life in practice?

Join us at the ACBS World Conference 2026 in Lyon, where ACT4life will be presented internationally for the first time.
Together with Jaantje Thiadens, ACT trainer, educator, author, and co-developer of numerous ACT training programs and publications, Monique Samsen will guide participants through a hands-on workshop that connects process-based case formulation directly to ACT intervention.
Using your own clinical cases, you’ll learn how to visualize behavioral dynamics, identify leverage points for change, and translate core ACT processes into concrete, observable, and body-informed interventions. Particular attention will be given to the four phases of change (creative hopelessness) and how they inform both intervention choices and therapeutic stance.
During this workshop you will learn how to:
- construct a visual process-based case formulation;
- identify where behavior becomes constrained and where change is possible;
- translate core ACT processes into concrete and embodied interventions;
- use the four phases of change to guide intervention timing and therapist stance.
Whether you are new to ACT4life or an experienced ACT practitioner looking for greater coherence between assessment and intervention, we would love to meet you in Lyon.
We hope to see you there!
